Let's be honest, this is an inexpensive filing cabinet... so don't expect the highest thickness on the metal. I just wanted an inexpensive filing cabinet that could also function as a printer stand. And this is the perfect solution. There is a nice sized drawer to hold some office supplies and a slot to stack paper. The bottom drawer opens and closes very smooth even after it is bogged down with papers and the upper shelf holds the weight of my HP Photosmart All-in-one printer perfectly. My only note for improvement would be if this was on some kind of wheels. In the title it says 'mobile' and that is misleading. It doesn't have wheels.. it is mobile simply because it is small enough to pick up and move.
