One feature is that the drawers lock when the lid is down. That makes sense if you are carrying it and you don't want the drawers to open accidentally. Mine will be almost always left on a shelf but I found a work-around. If you open all of the drawers a little before you close the top, you can then open and close the drawers without having to open the top first. Nice looking toolbox and very functional and strong.
